About BARS

The British Art Research School

The British Art Research School (BARS) at the University of York aims to bring together art historians working in the field of art in Britain from the Medieval to the Contemporary in order to discuss their work and exchange ideas. The study of art in Britain is an increasingly exciting and exploratory area of study; BARS has been established in recognition of this dynamic field. Here at the BARS blog you will find information about British Art Research at the University of York and beyond.

The BARS blog is co-edited by three PhD students from the University of York, Caroline Good, Catherine Spencer, and Sean Willcock. Information about our individual areas of British art research can be found on our researchers page.

If you would like to subscribe to our e-bulletin or have any suggestions please email us at histart-bars@york.ac.uk.
